Pronouncing one letter of Navkar-mantra destroys sins of seven Sagaropama, one pada of Navkar-mantra destroys sins of fifty Sagaropama. Chanting one full Navkar-mantra destroys sins of five hundreds Sagaropama, and chanting hundred and eight times Navkar-mantra destroys sins of fifty four thousand Sagaropama. Navkar Jaap can be performed in three ways bhasya, upanshu and manas. it means we can recite jaap Verbally ( chanting aloud ) or Mentally ( murmuring or chanting in mind ). Jaap performed with utmost true earnestness can destroy birth into lower form of life (DURGATI) annihilate sins, develop meritorious karmas and leads to earning Tirthankar naam karma. Navkar Jaap also confers eight Siddhis and Navnidhi. In times of difficulties, Navkar Jaap becomes like our asset.

The actual fruition or right of Navkar mantra is received only after performing Updhaan. Any jaap performed before that does not bear real result or desired fruits.
